She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Van Pelt and Alice Van Pelt (Kreps); her daughter Marchelle Renee Sortor; and her sibling Donald Van Pelt (Helen). She is survived by: her husband Douglas Sortor; her daughters, Amber Laderach (Mike Tucker), Angela Stahl (Bryan Emerick) and Amy Pooley (Matt); her nieces, Julie Gee (John), Tammy Sortor (Richard) and Alma Laderach (Robert); her siblings, Joyce Derbeck (late Joseph) and Ronald Van Pelt; her grandchildren, Kelsey, Austin, Marchelle, Katie, Alicia, Hannah, Madison, Joni, Jenny, Nicole, Rochelle, Ashley, Cassie, Robert "Butch", Ricky and Derrick; and her great grandchild Leighton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses.
