He was predeceased by: his parents, Teodoso and Elvira; his son Jose Santos; his brother Santos; his sister-in-law Natividad Alvarez; and his son-in-law Richard Tjalsma.
He is survived by: his wife Josie; and his children, Oswaldo Gutierrez Jr., David Gutierrez (Christie), Gloria Carlson (Lew) and Linda Tjalsma. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
