He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Birman and Edith Birman (Hader); and his sister Catherine VanWinkle. He is survived by: his children, Becky Birman of Washington and James Birman Jr. (Shannon); his grandchildren, Amelia, Hayden, Olivia and Aliza; and his sister Mary Hitzler. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
