She was predeceased by: her former husband Gerard D. Cooke; and her parents, Klaas Esselink and Lena Esselink. She is survived by: her husband Jim Vanden Berg; her children, Lisa Cooke, Rachel Cooke (Dave Burt), Connie Sterk (Gerrit), Gerry Cooke (Brandy) and Jim Vanden Berg (Terri); and her brothers, Leonard Esselink (Lois) and Evert Esselink (Sue). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

In memory of Mimi and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
