He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Purvis and Alice Purvis (Gardner); and his siblings, Patricia Kitson, Sharon McComber, Larry Purvis and Jack Purvis.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Purvis; his children, Tina LaPorte, Stanley Purvis Jr., Lori Brown (Joel) and Steven Purvis; his sister Brenda Johnson (Ken); his granddaughter Meshia; and his great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ethan and Stanley. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
