He was predeceased by: his parents, WIlliam S. Miekka and Alberta Miekka (Richards); and his siblings, Jack Sperling and Judy Lucas. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Kay Witt; and his children, Melissa Sutphen (John) of Perry and William Matthew Miekka (Tara) of Bath. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church.
