He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Schmidt and Edith Schmidt; his wife Bonnie McGuffin; his sister-in-law Francine Schmidt; and his daughter Kimberly Wilczek.
He is survived by: his children, Jonathon R. Schmidt (Lisa), Mark L. Schmidt (Nicole) and Kristina Kowitz; and his siblings, Gary Schmidt (Della), Dale Schmidt, Dawn Schmidt and Lori Schulz (Wayne). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
