He was predeceased by: his father Steven Birkenhauer; and his siblings, Marion, Caroline, Jean, Clarence, Joan, Alan and Steven.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie Wright; his children, Carla Birkenhauer, Susan Lickman (Dan), Paul Birkenhauer (Kelly) and Jason Birkenhauer; and his stepchildren, Joseph Jancic (Audra) and Catherine May (Karl). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
