He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Denton Parmer; and his sister Laura Denton. He is survived by: his father Paul Denton; his siblings, Charlie Denton and Paula Denton; his niece Meg Krull; his nephew Kyler Denton McHardy; his great-niece Evvie Mae Krull Burke; and his pet Sadie Mae.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Cardiovascular center at Michigan Medicine.
