It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle A. Smith of Cedar Springs, Michigan, who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Smith and Ida Smith (Spencer); his grandson Rodney Smith; and his daughter-in-law Nancy Smith. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his sons, Jeff Hilliker (Tammy), Roy Smith and Rick Smith; and his grandchildren, Randy Smith (Lois), Dana Hilliker (Melissa), Kimberly Morehouse (Robert), Michelle Westphal (Tim), Theresa Raske (James) and Nicki Hilliker. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
