He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Grotenrath and John G. Grotenrath II; his former wife Julia; his wife Lois; and his parents-in-law, John and Lucy Oziemkiewicz.
He is survived by: his brother Robert Grotenrath; his children, Doug Grotenrath (Judy), Don Grotenrath (Debra), Cindy Grotenrath, John Grotenrath (Freida) and Jim Grotenrath (Ally); his stepchildren, Mike Kiaunis (Cindy), Dan Kiaunis, Micki, Mary Bradford (Brent) and Bill Kiaunis (Michelle); his grandchildren, Michael Grotenrath, Corey Edge, Dan Grotenrath (Christina), Lindsey Takus, Samuel, Jake (Jodi), Ryan, Maddie and Nick Grotenrath; his siblings-in-law, Betty Oziemkiewicz, Jim Franck and Sally Gibson; and his friend Julia Oziemkiewicz. He is also survived by his step grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
