He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Nixon; and his sons, Melvin A. McFarland, Jr. (Genevieve) of Caro and Randy W. McFarland (Diane) of Cass City. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.
