He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Hittler and Mary Jane Hittler (Sullivan); his wife Jane Aquin Hittler (Hunter); his children, William Hittler (Donna Watz) of Plymouth, MN, Anne Hunter (Scott Taylor) of Nellysford, VA, Joan Hammell (Joseph) of Minneapolis, MN, John Hittler (Radhika Mohandas) of San Jose, CA, Paul Hittler of Bloomfield Hills, David Hittler (Laura) of Magnolia, TX, Robert Hittler of Perrysburg, OH, Mary Scott (Daniel) of Lathrup Village and Karen Nicolay (Brian) of Advance, NC; his sister Susan (William); and his daughter Mary Lou Jankowski (Donald). He was also cherished by 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to University of Detroit Mercy, Dan and Jane's alma mater.
