He is survived by: his mother Sharon Ann Franzel (Walsh); his son Joshua Franzel of Lansing; his father Charles Franzel; and his siblings, Michael Franzel of Ubly, David Franzel (Jeni) of Ubly, Kevin Franzel of Ubly, Charles Franzel, Jr. of Caseville, Richard Franzel (Sarah) of Ubly, Rodney Franzel of Ubly, Brian Franzel (Nancy) of Bad Axe, Bradley Franzel of Ubly, Kimberly Keller (Greg) of Ubly, Karen Pichla (Joseph) of Freeland, Kelly Comini (Robert) of Highland and Kathy Franzel of Sterling Heights. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
