He was predeceased by: his parents, Winford Brinkman and Catherine Brinkman (MacDougal); his brothers, Loren Brinkman and Charles Brinkman; his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Brinkman, Vera Brinkman and Roberta Brinkman; and his niece Debra Brinkman.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Jacoby; his children, Faith Fahrner (Fred) of Owendale, Robert J. Brinkman (Debra) of Pentwater, Richard Brinkman (Kayeleen) of Caro and Berton Brinkman (Mary) of Cass City; his grandchildren, Robert "Jamie" Brinkman (Amy) of Sterling Heights, Rebecca "Becky" Fahrner of Caro, Matthew Brinkman of Pentwater, Philip Fahrner (Jean) of Owendale, Ryan Brinkman (Elizabeth) of Gagetown, Joshua Brinkman (Tracey) of Howell, Elizabeth Zaunbrecher (Gabe) of Columbia, Joel Brinkman (Lindsey) of Decker, Nathan Brinkman (Shauna) of Cass City, Kimberly Costa (Jeff) of Eagleville, Jacob "Jake" Brinkman (Alysia) of Caro and Jennifer Hunter (Joshua) of Reese; his stepgrandchildren, Justin Laney (Kayla) of Phoenix and Morgan Laney (Leslie) of Cincinnati, Ohio; his brother Jack D. Brinkman of Caro; and his great grandchild Anita Hunter. He is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren.
