She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Bauman and Irene Bauman (McPherson); her former husband Thomas Abbey; and her sister Kathleen Chutes. She is survived by: her husband Don Baublitz; her sons, James R. Abbey (Lisa) of Caro and Dr. Kenneth R. Abbey (Jennifer C. Swendsen) of Lake Oswego, Oregon; her grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas Abbey (Claudia Gates Abbey) of Grand Rapids and Caitlyn Abbey of Chicago; her stepchildren, Jessica Baublitz (Eric Ratermann) of Cincinnati, Stefanie Kessen (Robert) of Wausau, Jeffrey Jones (Karen) of Chicago and Amy Jones of Chicago; and her stepgrandchildren, Carley Kessen, Avery Kessen and Jasper Jones.
Marilyn's family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a, m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Bluewater Thumb Youth for Christ.
