With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elaine Ruth of Canadian Lakes, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on October 3, 2021 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Elaine Ruth to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Elien Hancock (Olson) and William H. Hancock; her husband Robert S. Bruinsma; her brother William E. Hancock; her son-in-law Donald J. Oertling; and her stepfather J. A. Quiggle.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Douglas Bruinsma, Beth Noe (Robert) and Wendy Oertling; her grandchildren, Allison Noe Lustig, Adam Noe, Jessica Bruinsma, Elana Bruinsma, Jonathan "Jack" Bruinsma, Christopher Oertling and Shawn Oertling; and her great grandchildren, Alex, Jillian, Elle and Haley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
