He was predeceased by: his wife Michelena; his brothers, Jim and Ted; and his parents, Edward Wilbert and Mary Rose.

He is survived by: his children, William, Anna Thomas (Buckardt), Rochelle Thomas and Kathleen Meyers; and his siblings, Jeanne (François Renaud), Larry (Lois Thomas), Anne (Tom Debri), Elizabeth Thomas, Karen (Randey Palmer), Susan (Bill Bauman), John Thomas, Mary (Gus Sweetland) and Richard (Lisa Thomas). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
