He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly; his son Edward Lee McCarty; his parents, Edward McCarty and Myrtle McCarty; and his sister Carolyn Bardwell.
He is survived by: his children, Craig, Deb McCarty, Scott, Sandy McCarty, Doug, Melissa McCarty, Richard Jr. and Kaye McCarty; his grandchildren, Richard III, Erin McCarty, Ravi Teja, Jamie McCarty, Katie, Derrick Brock, Brett, Breda McCarty, Jacob, Jackie McCarty, Joe, Kara McCarty, Danielle McCarty (Austin Simmons), Lorrin McCarty, Caitlin, Jake Denison and Kylie McCarty; his great grandchildren, Landon Brock, Richie IV McCarty, Caroline McCarty, Olivia Brock and Jiovanni McCarty; and his sisters, Mary Jo (Carl Pickard), Betty (Denny Haight), Nancy Muller and Lorraine (Carlos Kirk). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
