He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Willshire and Sophia Willshire; his former wife Marlene Willshire (Gramza); his son Doug; and his granddaughter Trisha Willshire.

He is survived by: his wife Mercey; his sons, Brian (Stacey) and Greg Willshire (Cindy); his grandchildren, Ben Willshire (Emily), Marlee Meads (Andrew), Michael and Sara Willshire; his great grandchildren, Peter, Gianna Meads and Rose Willshire; and his children, Richard Erway (Joann) and Juli Papendick (Lee).
