It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Ann Hekman of Byron Center, Michigan, born in Bozeman, Montana, who passed away on March 7, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Vis and Esther Vis; and her siblings, Elizabeth DeBoer and Kenneth Vis. She is survived by: her husband Charles Evans; her sons, Charles Gabriel Hekman (Anne Damiecka) and Jonathan Hekman; her grandchildren, Dighton Hekman, Caleb Hekman (Mira), Asa Hekman and Gabriela Damiecka; her siblings, Evelyn (Jay Koets), Esther (Mike Alsum), Harriet Vis, Noni (Calvin Geers), Bill (Barbara Vis) and Pat Deur-Vis; and her siblings-in-law, Mel DeBoer, Lorrie Vis, David, Marcia Hekman and Jean VanSweden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
