She was predeceased by: her parents, DeVerne Alpin and Jennie Alpin (Samson); her husbands, Leo Johnston and Donald Whitman; her daughter Kathleen; and her siblings, Mary Baumgard, Kenneth Alpin, Robert Alpin, John "Jack" Alpin and Jim Alpin.
She is survived by: her children, Leo Johnston, Jr., Gerald Johnston (Catherine), William Johnston (Pamela) and Beth Ann Warren; her stepchildren, Gary Whitman, Donald Whitman, Catherine Johnston and John Whitman; her brother Dennis Alpin (Linda); and her brother-in-law Jim Johnston (Carol). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
