He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Walkden and Chester Walkden; his son William Walkden; his wife Betty Handley; his siblings, Irene and Richard; and his grandson Andrew.

He is survived by: his children, Shirley Knox (Dave) and James Walkden; and his grandchildren, David Knox (Manda), Jason Knox (Kerry), Jessica Monsma (Craig), Aleisha Rauch (JR), Billy Walkden and Alyssa Walkden. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
