She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert "Fred" and Bertha Poindexter (McNier); her former husband Richard Shankel; her husband Bill Crippen; her brother John Poindexter; her sister-in-law Clarice Poindexter; and her stepchildren, Bill Crippen and Linda Green.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Warner (Cliff), Kristine Engle (Chris), Karen Shankel (Mike Rhoads), Kay Myers (Duane), Dale Shankel (Beverly), Dennis Shankel (Paula) and Doug Shankel (Jenny); her stepdaughter Deb Pullman (Jeff); her brothers, Frank and Howard Poindexter (Gladys); and her sister-in-law Elaine Poindexter. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Breckenridge United Methodist Church or the Gratiot County Commission on Aging.
