He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward Carlin and Alvina Carlin (Walz); his wife Peggy Derr; his children, Greg Carlin (Andrea) and Kari Hoikka (Jeff); his grandchildren, Allison Carlin, Justin and Kody Hoikka; his brother-in-law Jim Taup; his nieces, Megan Leary, Amy Maloof and Kelly Boks; his nephew Scott Taglauer; and his sister Beverly Taup.
