It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Johnson of Benton Harbor, Michigan, who passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas and Millie; his siblings, Patricia Ann Johnson, Freddie Lee Johnson, Rosie Youngblood, Eva Louise Johnson, Robert Johnson, Charlie Johnson and Jerry Johnson; and his son Ian Lamar Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Latasha Williams (Kevin) of Victorville, Shelana Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI, Doneala Hines of Benton Harbor, MI, Ashley Hines of Benton Harbor, MI, Keenan Leon Johnson of Dallas, TX, Michael Hines (Ryan Johnson), Douglas Hines of South Bend, IN and Terrance Gunn of Mississippi; his brother Donald Ray Johnson of Harvey, LA; his friends, Donna Broyles, Lucy Nelson, Darryl Long, Dennis Guidry, Thomas C. Yates, Tommy Miles, Lerot Waters, Reggie Collins and Michael Jenkins; and his son Josh Koebel. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; his once companions, loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
