She was predeceased by: her husband James L. Murphy; her parents, Walter Whaling and Flossie Whaling; and her brothers, Walter Whaling and George Whaling.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Leonard (Stephen) of Benton Harbor, MI, Pamela Harper (Jan) of Benton Harbor, MI, Daryl Murphy, Mazatlán, Mexico, Shannon Kimmel (Jamie), Kevin Murphy of East Lansing, MI, Heidi Patterson (Walter), Kyle Murphy (Cheryl) and Nancian Strand of Kalamazoo, MI; her grandchildren, Kyle Wilson, Siobhan, Alexandra Leonard, Quran Turner (Cynea), Ian, Ryan (Zaira), Kevin Kimmel, Kyla Massey, Sophie, William, James Patterson, Paige Harper (Christi), Tara Jarrett (Daniel), Asa Murphy (April), Marlo Murphy and Noah Strand; and her sisters-in-law, Patricia Whaling of Kalamazoo, MI and Sheila Whaling. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
