He was predeceased by: his father George Francis Finney; and also, EllaMay Huffman (Bedell) and John Finney. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kay Finney (Arsnoe); his children, George DeWaine Finney Jr of Bellaire and Lisa Marie Finney Mikolon (Mike) of Vanderbilt; his grandchildren, Heather Marie Puroll, Elisakaye Kelly (Jake), Caleb, Andrea, Jason, Makayla and Devin George Finney; his great grandchildren, Melaina Kelly, Joseph Kelly and Jacob George Kelly; and his siblings, Roberta Homer (Dave) and Robert Finney (Kathy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
