He was predeceased by: his grandson Zachary Schwabe; and his siblings, Don Ottgen, Ralph Ottgen, Steve Ottgen, Helen Hughey and Pat Homan.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah "Suzie" Ottgen of Bellaire; his children, Tonda Watrous (Andy) of Mancelona, Benjamin Ottgen (Felicia) of Suttons Bay, Carl Schwabe (Trish) of Waynetown, IN and Craig Schwabe (Sheila) of Traverse City; and his siblings, Howard Ottgen (Queen) of Mancelona and Alice Sanford (Harold) of Williamsburg. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
