He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cheedie and Myrtle Cheedie-Meredith (McBride); his siblings, William D. Cheedie, Walter M. Cheedie and Shirley A. Ghist; and his stepfather Eugene Meredith.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Cheedie (Brooks) of Atlanta; his children, Toni Crager (Joseph) of Navarre, Florida and Troy Cheedie (Kristen) of Atlanta; his grandchildren, Chace Hooper, Gage Cheedie, Jace Cheedie and Aiden Crager; his cousin Marlene McBride Mann of Brighton; and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Cheedie (Walter) of North Carolina and Richard Brooks of Atlanta. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
