She was predeceased by: her parents, Lynn Meade and Lillian Meade (Waanders); and her sister Margaret Gaby (Tom). She is survived by: her husband Dr. James R. Wheat; her sons, Mike Wheat (Beth) and Tom Wheat (Julie); her grandchildren, Bill Wheat (Kim), Tom Wheat (Heather), Rachel Wheat and Evan Wheat; her great grandchildren, Korbin, Colten, Owen and Evelyn; and her siblings, Gary Meade (Debra) and Linda Wilson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in Sandy's name to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.
