He was predeceased by: his parents, James Joseph and Amelia O'Connell (Hinkle); his son Michael David O'Connell, Jr. of Allegan, Michigan; his siblings, James O'Connell (Lois), Roy O'Connell and Linda Lange (Larry); and his siblings-in-law, Naomi O'Connell and John Mackey.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his stepsons, Gilbert Snyder (Kathi) of Hopkins and Larry Snyder (Kay) of Otstego, Michigan; his siblings, Robert O'Connell and Patricia Mackey; and his sister-in-law Judy O'Connell. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
