She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edward A. Paulsen and Dorothy I. Paulsen (Butts); her husband James E. Matthews; her children, Michael Matthews (Betty) of Jackson, Gregory Matthews (Kathy) of Addison, Lori Habermas (Mark) of Chattanooga and Diane Cattell (Gordon) of Jackson; her sisters, Nadine Southard (Steve) of Lake Wales and Jennette Deem (Gary) of Adrian; and her son James Matthews. She was also cherished by eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.
