He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Swartout and Gladys M. Swartout (Branch); his wife Joyce; his daughter Lynita Swartout; his sisters, Louise "Sis" Swartout and Violet; and his brother-in-law Earl Tabler.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deanna Corbeil (Randy) of Leonard and Monica Swartout-Bebow (John) of Ann Arbor, MI; and his grandchildren, Emma Corbeil and Delaney Bebow. He is also survived by two nieces, and one cousin.
