He was predeceased by: his father Thomas E. Verburg. He is survived by: his wife Lisa; his daughter Emma Jeane; his mother Geraldine Verburg; his sisters, Deanna Warhaftig (Ira) and Jennifer Conover (John); and his father-in-law Joseph.

Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Gilda's Club Grand Rapids.
