He was predeceased by: his parents, Varian "Bud" Smith and Kathlyn Smith (Timmer); his wife Delores Smith; and his son-in-law Bob Battey. He is survived by: his children, Joy Battey, Boyd Smith and Mark Smith. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
