He is survived by: his parents, John S. and Pauline Fernald, Sr.; his wife Betty Fernald (Walls); his children, Cecil Fernald (Julie) of Mt, Stephen Fernald (Wanda) of Mt and Penny Fernald of Mt; his grandchildren, Emily Fernald, John Fernald and Alice Fernald; and his brother Robert Fernald (Jean). He is also survived by nephew, niece.
