It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Tullgren Jr. (Machias, Maine), born in Swampscott, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 1, 2018, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent David Bernard. He is survived by: his parent Gladys Tullgren (Ralph); his children, Debra Taylor of Plaistow, NH, David Bernard Tullgren, III of East Boston, MA, Peter John Tullgren of Montgomery Center, VT, Eric Stutz Tullgren of North Andover, MA and Paul Timothy Tullgren of Colchester, VT; his stepsons, Dale Curtin of Machias, ME and Dana Curtin of Jacksonville, FL; his nephew Joseph Riley of Peabody, MA; his friends, Jean Groder of Hancock, ME. and Jake Groder of Hancock, ME.; and also, David and Navy.

“I met LCDR Tullgren on the USS Franklin D Roosevelt CVA42 1975-77. He was my department head. I liked his approach to being in charge of the communications department. he made 2 visits to the Communications Department. The day he took charge of the Signals and Radio. Center. A short lecture, keep the Captain off my ass, I'll stay off yours. And farewell the day we came back from the Mediterranean Sea. Shift colors, departing for heavenly seas with the master, Jesus Christ.”
