It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helena Mae Desilva (Bridgton, Maine), born in Thomaston, Maine, who passed away on April 4, 2019, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfonso Valley, and Helen Burton Valley, Sr.; her husband Joseph DeSilva, Jr.; her stepfather Peter Lynds; and her siblings, George Lynds, Roy Lynds, Alfonso Valley, Sr., Dolores Carey and Patricia Valley.

She is survived by: her children, Peter Forbes (Marguerite) of Saco, David Forbes (Robin) of Saco and Brenda Vail (Daniel) of Bridgton; her mother-in-law Doris DeSilva of Saco; her siblings, John Lynds of Scarborough, Leslie Lynds (Andrew) of Boise, ID, Bruce Valley, Julia Dennison of Hollis and Clara Miner of Portland; her grandchildren, Dave, Megan, Michael and Ethan; and her great grandchildren, Luke and Logan.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to the American Lung Association of Maine, 122 State Street, Augusta, Maine 04330.
