He was predeceased by: his parents, Merton I. Bessey and Ava Stearns Bessey; his siblings, Adelia Houghton and Irving Bessey (Norma); his grandsons, Craig Hutchins and Jordan Bessey; his parents-in-law, Leland Coolidge and Louise Coolidge; and his sisters-in-law, Serena Inman and Cynthia Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Alberta "Pat" Coolidge; his children, Barbara Bessey of Billings, Bonnie Hutchins (John) of Standish, Maine and Walter Bessey (Christy) of Lebanon, Ohio; his grandchildren, Matthew Hutchins, Andrew Bessey and Katelyn Seward (Donovan); his great grandchild Addie Seward; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Houghton, Robert Coolidge and Philip Coolidge (Linda).
