He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bates and Evelyn Bates (Tubb). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Aileen Bates; his children, Scott Bates, Seth Bates (Debbie), Jordana Bates, Cindy Callahan (Pat) and Wayne Ross (Tina); his grandchildren, Rachel Bates, Justin Rowzee, Megan Callahan, Sean Pat Callahan, Johnathan Ross (Sarah), Steven Ross, Alexa Kleiman (Michael), Jaime Schwartz and Eric Schwartz; and his great grandchild Jaedyn Rowzee.
