He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Bankert and Mary Margaret Hahn Bankert; his wife Ethel "Margaret" Bankert; his son David Bankert; his grandson Adam W. Bankert; and his daughter-in-law Patty Bankert.
He is survived by: his sons, Raymond I. Bankert of Westminster and John S. Bankert (Pat) of Westminster; his siblings, Sara Jane Cromer of Hanover, PA and William A. Bankert (Sandy) of Raynham, MA; his grandsons, Eric Bankert (Kim) of Taneytown and Josh Bankert (Kristen) of New Freedom, PA; and his great grandchildren, Devin, Rylee, Logan, Karleigh and Jacqueline Bankert.
