He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Levi Bloom and Mary Caroline Dodrer Bloom; his grandson James E. L. Bloom; and his siblings, Ina Raye Glenn, E. Caroline Bloom and Richard Lee Bloom.
He is survived by: his children, James I. "Jimmy" Bloom (LouAnn Strevig) of Westminster and Stacey L. Myers (Todd) of Littlestown, PA; his siblings, Carl D. Bloom of Westminster, Kenneth E. Bloom (Doris) of Union Bridge, Calvin W. Bloom (Susan) of Westminster, Sharon E. Dull (Charles) and Kay Chaloupek (Bobby) of Pensacola, FL; his aunt Elizabeth Hill (Libby) of Westminster; his grandchildren, Gerald Bloom, Rachel Battaglia, Tyler, Meghan Strevig, Isaac, Jonah, Elijah and Eliana Myers; and his great grandchildren, James, Gerald Bloom and Ryder Battaglia.
