He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Eileen Hicks; his parents, Roxie Hicks and Roby Hicks; and his siblings, Johnnie Byron Hicks and Sandra Ann Engles.

He is survived by: his daughters, Roxanna Pollack (Craig), Heather Cole (Matt), Jenifer Flynn and Kayla Smith (Corey); his siblings, Donald Edwin Hicks, Nancy Jo Hare and Theresa Feliciano; his grandchildren, Jordana Pollack, Zachary Pollack (Rebecca Leisner), Gabrielle Pollack (Josh Seguenza), Roby Flynn, Malorie Flynn, Jake Cole, Molli Cole and Barrett Smith; and his cousins, Cheryl and Cody Grooms. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
