She was predeceased by: her parents, William Tilghman and Elizabeth Tilghman; her husband Robert Lay Adkins; her children, Eric Adkins and Debbie Gilmore; her brother William I. Tilghman; and her grandson Bradley Quillen.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Beth Quillen (Chuck) of Snow Hill, Elysee Adkins Marshall (Tom) of Naples, Florida and Mark Adkins of Salisbury, Maryland; her grandchildren, Meredith Gilmore of Front Royal, Chip Quillen of Snow Hill, Anna Leigh Gilmore of Parker and Andrew Quillen (Hannah) of Snow Hill; her great grandchildren, Jaylin Quillen, Aaron Quillen, Hunter Quillen, Weston Quillen, Virginia Vandewater and Lily Emma Ellison; and her sister-in-law Anna Tilghman of Cambridge, Maryland..
