She was predeceased by: her parents, John J. Adkins and Lillie Carter Adkins; and her siblings, Lloyd Adkins, John Adkins, James Adkins, Aline Wilmer, Anna Gordy (Polly) and Ruth Guthrie.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Smith (Sammy); her son Glenn Smith (Jessica); her grandchildren, Amy Jo Mulinos (Michael), Shelby Barnes (Sam), Ryan Jackson (Alyssa) and Justin Smith; her siblings, Norman Adkins, Carolyn Adkins and Laura Taylor; her cousin Nancy Bunce; and her sisters-in-law, Frances Adkins, Kathy Smith and Barbara Daisey. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 83, Snow Hill, MD 21863; OR to support brain tumor research at the University of Maryland.
