She was predeceased by: her husband Col. George W. Gering, Jr.; her brother A. Hartley Stevens, Jr. (Gering); and her great grandchildren, Autumn Shover, Preston Shover, Kate Buckley, Luke Buckley, Hutson Gering, Palmer Gering and Sanders Gering.

She is survived by: her children, Col. George W. Gering III (Skip) and Hartley G. Onley; and her grandchildren, George W. Gering IV (Kip), Kyle G. Buckley, John D. Gering, Kelley L. Crouch and Kristen G. Shover.
