We bid farewell to Shirley Lucille Ali of Severn, Maryland, born in Washington, District of Columbia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 21, 2024 at the age of 93. Shirley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Evelyn Brown Goffney and Watson Goffney; and her son Abbey Ali of Inga, A. J.. She is survived by: her children, Inga Lynch (Donald), A. J. Ali (Jane) and Shanti Perry (Philip); her grandchildren, Taj Perry (Ericka), Sierra Ali, I'sis Perry, Jaleel Perry, Moriah Perry, Elijah Perry and Amy Harriman (Jon); and her great grandchildren, Tayvaun Perry, Taleah Perry, Tyreke Perry, Tatiana Perry, Tajanea Perry and Taylor Harriman.
In lieu of flowers, please join the family in donating to the Washington Section, National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) in the name of Shirley Ali. The family is establishing a Shirley Ali Memorial Fund at NCNW to support the entrepreneurial pursuits of young women based on financial need, history of giving back to the community, and their efforts to overcome personal adversity.
