He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rodney and Eleanor Tull Sterling; his daughter Lori Elisabeth Sterling; and his brother Roy Rodney Sterling. He is survived by: his son Christopher Wayne Sterling, Sr. of Salisbury; his sister-in-law Rowena Sterling of Texas; and his grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Sterling, Jr., Peyton Eli Sterling and Da'Von Perry.
