We are sad to announce that on September 20, 2021, at the age of 84, Donald F. Carter of Salisbury, Maryland, born in McLean, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Douglas Carter and Vann Leonard Carter; his cousin Mark Carter; his stepfather Roger Core; his siblings, Preston Barnes, Myrna Diane Franklin and Barbara Downes; his grandson Hakim Jackson; his parents-in-law, Preston and Amanda Cherry; and his brothers-in-law, Harris Purnell and James Mitchell.

He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Inez Muhammad (Naji), Donald Carter, Jr. (Valerie) and William Owens III; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Brandon, Marquis, Sabrina, Donovan, Laree, William IV, Joshua, Aqueelah, Ryan and Lashaya; his siblings, Deborah Orlena, DeAnna Chapman (Authur), Lynda Terrell (Ervin) and William S. Downes; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Franklin (Francine), Leo Cherry (Helen), Dempster Cherry (Geri), Addie Purnell, Amanda Mitchell, Sally Cherry and Sheila Cherry. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
